Chapter 2. IBM 2212 Hardware and Adapters

The IBM 2212 is available in eight models, Models 10F, 15F, 10H, 15H, 40F, 45F, 40H, and 45H.

Models 10F, 10H, 40F, and 40H have:

• A standard system card

• Four integrated WAN ports

• A PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) slot for a 1-port Ethernet or Token Ring PMC adapter

• Your choice of compact flash (48 MB) or hard drive (over 2 GB).

• Up to 128 MB DRAM

Models 15F, 15H, 45F, and 45H have:

• A high-performance system card

• A 4-port WAN PMC adapter

• A PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) slot for a 1-port Ethernet or Token Ring PMC adapter

• Your choice of compact flash (48 MB) or hard drive (over 2 GB).

• Up to 512 MB EDO RAM

Each Model 1xx has one compact peripheral component interconnect (CPCI) slot for network adapters.

Each Model 4xx has four CPCI slots for network adapters.

Notes:

1. The integrated standard WAN ports support the same media attachments and features as the 4-port CPCI WAN adapter on page "4-Port WAN CPCI Adapter (FC 3103, PN 85H8836)".

2. DRAM provides the working memory for the router program and router network tables.

3. Standard, Enterprise, High-Performance, High-Performance Enterprise code load contents are listed in Table 3-1.

4. On Models x5x, one of the two PMC adapter slots is used for the 4-port WAN PMC adapter.
